"I will give you rest"

"Jesus said to the crowds,"Come unto me all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest." (Luke 11:28)

Where is the rest, Lord, for the families of the three young Minnesota men who were killed in Iraq while serving their countries? Where is the rest for the one left alive who lost his legs?

Where is the rest, Lord, for those 400 foreign born workers who have come North seeking a better life here than they had in Mexico? Now they are being interrogated far from families and friends and even farther from the hope which drove them to come to our state.
Where is the rest for all of us, who come to you weary and burdened?
Come, Lord Jesus.
Come, Lord Jesus.
Come, Lord Jesus.

Amen.

Please know I'm praying for the requests in the side panel, and for the 400 mentioned here as well.

Thank you so much! An update: at the end of the raid 260 or so were actually detained, but it was part of a larger series in various states which "netted" over 1200 people. The aim of the raids was to deal with identity theft, but the practical effect was to separate families, scare other innocent people and, of course, serve as a "warning" to meat packing companies.

I continue to pray that our society be given grace to treat others with hospitality, as Christ has received us.
